Project Overview

360 Queen Street is a prominent addition to Brisbane’s CBD skyline, featuring a premium-grade commercial tower with high-end architectural finishes and complex structural elements. The standout feature of the project is its striking Level 33 Sky Terrace and the roof crown spanning Levels 34 and35 — both signature architectural components requiring a high level of coordination and precision in execution.

Our Role in the Project

BSF Design Solutions was engaged to provide detailed steel shop drawings for the Level 33 Sky Terrace and the Level 34–35 Roof Crown. Our scope extended beyond traditional detailing, as we played an instrumental role in resolving the connection design and coordination with architectural and structural elements. Through proactive engagement with the design team, we developed practical and buildable connection solutions that were critical in maintaining project momentum and supporting fabrication and construction timelines.

Challenges & Solutions

The project presented a challenge in that many connection details required development and coordination to suit the architectural and structural demands. To address this, our team worked closely with the structural engineer, architect, and façade contractor to develop workable connection details that satisfied both structural requirements and architectural intent.
The tight construction program and high architectural expectations demanded rapid resolution of design issues, which we achieved through iterative 3Dmodelling, coordinated RFI responses, and regular design workshops. Our collaborative approach enabled critical decisions to be made quickly and efficiently, avoiding costly delays on site.
